Privacy Policy
Effective October 1, 2026
Deerwood Place Estates ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Retire West Communities Ltd. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This policy explains what we collect through deerwoodplaceestates.ca, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you fill in a form, request a tour or a home valuation, or contact us by phone or email, we collect the details you choose to share. This usually includes your name, email address, phone number, the reason for your enquiry and anything you write in your message.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, we collect basic technical information such as the pages you view, the website that referred you, your general location (city or region), your device and browser type, and the date and time of your visit. We use this in aggregate to understand how the site is used. It is not used to identify you personally.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Respond to your questions and requests
- Arrange private tours and meetings at the community
- Help you buy or sell a home at Deerwood Place Estates
- Send you information you have asked for, such as new listings
- Improve our website and the service we provide
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
Email communication
If you contact us, we will reply about your enquiry. We will only add you to ongoing updates, such as new listing notices, with your consent, and every message will include a simple way to unsubscribe, in line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with the trusted service providers that help us run the site and respond to you, and only as much as they need to do that work. These include:
- Zoho, our customer relationship management system, which stores enquiries on servers located in Canada
- Our website hosting and analytics providers
- Our scheduling tool, if you book a tour online
With your permission, we may also share your details with the other party in a home sale, such as a buyer or seller you have asked us to connect you with, or with a lender, lawyer or notary involved in your transaction. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Some of our service providers may process information outside Canada. When that happens, your information is subject to the laws of that country, and we choose providers that protect it to a standard comparable to Canadian law.
Cookies and similar technologies
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working properly and to measure visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, although some features may not.
How long we keep information
We keep your information for as long as we need it to respond to you and support a home purchase or sale, and as long as the law requires us to keep records. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous.
How we protect information
We use reasonable physical, administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, including password-protected systems and access limited to the people who need it. No website or online service is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information such as banking details through our forms.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to us using it. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days.
Third-party links
Our site may link to other websites, such as Google Maps or our social channels. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information, so please review their privacy policies.
